CE Week: Latte art printer - is that Elvis in your coffee?
/Created by Young Jeohn
Make your morning a happy one with a custom print on your latte or cappuccino foam. The Ripple Maker uses coffee extract for a delicious, yummy looking print - choose your art from their existing catalog or a photo of your choosing (say, your favorite sports team, the face of Elvis, or more likely, your poodle Foo-Foo.)
Each print takes about ten seconds and the cost will be $999 for the printer to commercial establishments (coffee shops, hotels, at events, etc) plus a service plan starting at $75/month and will be available in September of 2015. It's a novel and unique offering for a nation obsessed with coffee, especially since your latte art is no longer limited to the skill of a barista you have to hunt miles around for.
The Ripple Maker is made by Steam CC of Tel Aviv, Israel. They already have an agreement with Lufthansa airlines to have these in their first and business class lounges later this year.
