Fans of the hit videogame will love this book. The book contains 6 chapters which consists of 191 pages. The book starts off with an introduction by Phil Robb and Chris Ashton. The introduction is a great start to the book. It gives readers an insight look at what a pitch for a videogame is like. The process of pre-production, concept art details are more are revealed. Heading into the first chapter Metamorphosis: Pre-Pitch Visualization, you get beautiful artwork of landscapes and concept art of scenes. The details on the concept art is amazing!!!
Chapter 2 Shear: A Savage Frontier World shows you the details of how Evolve originally took place in four different planets, each with their own ecosystem and wild life. The pictures are truly stunning to see from ice landscapes to the deserts. The concept art even shows the Dune Bettle nests which was great to see that added to the book.
Chapter 3 and 4 focuses on the designs of the creatures of Shear and the Hunters. In these two chapters you discover the inspiration behind each creature and hunter. The great thing about the hunter chapter is that you get a bio of each character. Finally chapter 5 shows the cities and building locations of Evolve, while chapter 6 shows the beta phases of the monsters from conception to final product. Overall if you're a fan of Evolve and art books this one you should check out. It has great style, beautiful colors and the concept art is a homerun.
