This October, Madoka Magica fans will be treated to something special. Following the release of the entire television series on video, Aniplex of America has just announced that the first two Puella Magi Madoka Magica movies Part 1: Beginnings and Part 2: Eternal will debut in the US this October. There is no doubt both movies will provide a new experience for both fans who have enjoyed the TV series or who are just seeing Madoka Magica for the first time.

Distributed by Eleven Arts, select theaters in five major cities across the US will be having showtimes for both movies. The cost of admission will allow fans to watch both Part 1 and Part 2. Who's Hotter ( Big Bang Theory ) Cast Comparison

                                      Bernadette or Penny (Who's Hotter)?

Hey Otakus and Geeks fans, Sean (true comic fan). Today I purchase season 5 of the Big Bang Theory because I'm a huge fan of the series. When the show first aired in 2007, Kaley Cuoco (Penny) was the hottest chick on the show (maybe cause she was the only chic on the show) but now enter Melissa Rauch (Bernadette). Ever since her appearance in season 3 (The Creepy Candy Coating Corollary ep) I've been leaning toward the sexy little Microbiologist.

So like all debates I have to put this to a vote. This is for all fans of the show, of this site, and nerds everywhere. Who do you guys and girls think is hotter? I'm going to start by casting my vote for Bernadette! Leave a comment below and let us know who everyone thinks is hotter. Below I'm putting up a sexy pic of both to make your decisions a little easier LOL.

Melissa Rauch (Bernadette Rostenkowski)                                 Kaley Cuoco (Penny)

Hmmmm Decision, Decision!!!

Side Note: If your wondering why I have Melissa Rauch's Characters last name and not Kaley Cuoco's? There is a mystery on the show with cast and crew as to what her characters last name is.
We'll save that one for our next post.

Wii U Price and Release Date

I have just learn that Nintendo finally released the price and date of the Wii U for North America.

This will only be with the Deluxe

The Wii U will come in two flavors. A black Deluxe version what will come with internal storage of 32gb inside the system, the Wii U gamepad, stylus, sensor bar, Nintendo Land Video Game, Wii U game pad stand, Wii U gamepad cradle and Wii U console stand. The black will also have a special promo program in where you will be enrolled into the Deluxe Digital Promotion. What this is a limited time promotion where when ever you buy anything in the Nintendo e-shop(Nintendos downloads similar to Xbox Live Marketplace), you will gain credit/points to spend on other things inside the shop, its pretty much a reward system for spending money with them. The Promotion is just that also a promo meaning that it wont last forever. It is only plan to last up until 2014, so it looks to be a two year thing pretty much.

The White/Basic Wii U will come with everything BUT the Nintendo Land Video Game, Wii U game pad stand, Wii U gamepad cradle and Wii U console stand or the Deluxe Digital Promotion.

Now the Price of the Wii U will come in two flavors also. The black/Deluxe will be 349.99 and the white/Basic will be 299.99.

Wii Games You Must Play Before Wii U

The Wii U will arrive in stores later this year. For some people, the Nintendo Wii didn't live up to expectations, accused of having too many kid friendly games or water down versions of titles that was on PS3 and XBOX 360. Whether your thoughts on the Wii was good or bad, there is no denying the Wii had some clever titles. I have created a list for my readers of Wii titles you should check out before you get wrapped up into Wii U. These titles are games that I have personally played or have in my collection. Do not be surprised if the more popular titles are not included in this list. In addition some of the titles are import games that I had the pleasure of playing. Finally this list is of non Nintendo games, so no Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong etc. You should already know that you must play those games. Here is the list:

Muramasa The Demon Blade

Muramasa The Demon Blade can be described in one word artistic. This game didn't use 3D graphics that you would expect on next gen consoles. Instead this game utilizes the 2D engine that you have seen from the game Odin Sphere on the PS2. The story, the gameplay and the beautiful art style were enough for you to put this on your must play list. This is a very challenging game even on the easy level, it brings you back to the days of gaming where the game didn't hold your hand.

Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 (Import)

Usually when you people think of Gundam games they say it doesn't translate good to videogames. In some cases they might be right. However in this case they can't be more wrong, Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 is amazing. What separates this from other Gundam games is this game is in first person, it uses motion controls  and it makes you feel like you're actually piloting the Gundam. The story follows loosely the events of 0079 and gives you characters from other Gundam shows such as 08th MS Team.

Fatal Frame IV: The Lunar Eclipse (Import)

If you don't know by now, the Fatal Frame series is my favorite horror series in gaming. Unfortunately Fatal Frame IV never made it over here in the states. However that didn't stop die hard fans from making a full translation of the game, and of course I got my hands on it. The game was indeed scary, but it was starting to suffer from the formula of same stuff different location. Regardless this game is indeed the scariest game on the Wii and does phenomenal of giving us the Japanese horror feel.

Disaster: Day Of Crisis

Earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, almost every major natural disaster you can think of is in this  game. Disaster: Day Of Crisis follows a former solider/agent turned rescuer Raymond Bryce. While on a rescue mission to save a hiker on a volcano, the volcano erupts and let's just say things go downhill from there. The game has wonderful sequences from escaping a tidal wave on the bridge, to trying not to freeze to death. It gives you the arcade style shooting with your Wii mote and the responsibility of saving people you come across makes it more intense. One more thing the games soundtracks is one of the best period.

Trauma Team

Do you remember a game that you played as kid called "Operation?" Think "Operation" meets Anime style with Wii controls and you have Trauma Team. If I was to describe Trauma Team in one word that word would be FUN! This game is a blast to play. It has a great story, great characters and you can play various departments of the hospital. You can play the surgeon, EMT, etc.

Another Code R: A Journey Into Lost Memories (Import)

One thing I really love about the Wii is how diverse it is. The Wii was not afraid to take chances when it came to giving gamers different experiences in gaming. Another Code R is a visual novel game, and the sequel to the DS game "Trace Memory." The story follows Ashley as she tries to find out the mystery behind her mother, the story is well written and it will keep you playing till the very end.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom

Yatterman vs Ryu can you really go wrong with that? Tatsunoko vs Capcom was a solid fighter mixing some of the classic anime characters with Capcom's best.

The Last Story

It's called the last great Wii game, which really isn't true since this was released in Japan before we got it here in the states. The Last Story is from the original creators of Final Fantasy and epic is the word to describe this action RPG. Great story, great music and beautiful graphics to show the Wii's hardware power.

Xenoblade

Xenoblade is truly one of the best RPG's on the Wii and in this next gen era. The gameplay was solid, the music was beautiful and story was fun and a little bit emotional at times. This is one of the games you can't miss that is for sure.

Taiko no Tatsujin Wii Dodoon to 2 Daime (Import)

Taiko no Tatsujin is a fun music game to play with the family. If you're a fan of J-Pop/J-Rock this game is for you. The game features 70 songs from anime, J-pop, videogames and more. The game is played the best with the drum set kit that you can get from Japan. This is a import worth checking out.

No More Heroes

A man trying to make a living. A man trying to become number one, a man with skills of an assassin. No More Heroes is a unique game, and very fun to play. One of the mature games on the Wii and still one of the best on the Wii. No pun intended but this game is a TOUCHDOWN!

The Conduit

An original FPS for the Wii? Yes it happened and it was a blast. The gameplay worked very well using the motion controls, multi-player had the usual m.o. but it was still fun to play.

Goldeneye 007

Remakes aren't usually that great, but Goldeneye is a great remake for the Wii. It keeps the same feel and tone of the original with a Wii spin to it. You have the option to use the Gamecube controller which I really did enjoy.

There are tons of great titles on the Wii and I'm sure you have your own list. What Wii games do you think people should play before Wii U. Let us know.

Season 3 of Superjail! Premieres September 30th on Adult Swim

The warden and the gang is back and the death toll will rise again with Superjail season 3. I had the pleasure to screen two episodes from the upcoming season. I won't spoil a thing, however I will say that this season is looking more wackier than ever. The body count rises again, the warden is in some insane situations and the animation is really psychedelic. Here are some stills with credit and much thanks to the people from Adult Swim. Remember Superjail premieres on Adult Swim September 30th 12:15 AM (EST/PST).

Lenni Reviews: The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor

With the new season debuting this fall, with every Walking Dead fan’s favorite villain making his appearance, and with another Walking Dead novel coming out in October, it seems a good a time as any to talk about “The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor.”
I do enjoy zombie novels (even though I refuse to read them at night. A girl only makes that mistake ONCE) and Walking Dead is high on my list of favorite zombie tomes. But from the first few pages, one thing is clear: If you haven’t read the comics, the novel won’t be as fun. Oh, you’ll get it; zombies bad. Eat the living. That sucks for them. But the foundations the comics built are important to understanding some of the little nuances in this book.
I wanted to love this book, I really did. But it suffers from the same dragging as the show; long stretches of time where nothing is happening. Of course, don’t get attached to anyone. It’s just not worth it. I had a hard time feeling anything for these characters anyway since they all seem to be set up to fit into the inevitable events in the comic. The writing isn’t impressive. Very drab and full of clichés. Unless there’s zombie killin to be done. Then there’s some pretty stomach churning descriptions.
The title is deceptive. It’s not so much the “Rise of the Governor” more like “The 320 Page Slog To Get The Guy Who Will Be The Governor To The Town He Needs To Be In.” I'd want to know that but it's not why I picked up the book. I was hoping for more insight to how to the plague started; figuring it was part of how this man came to be. And when you get to the end… Oh, the ending…
This made just about as much sense. (Source)

Alright, I grew up on Twilight Zone. I love me a good twist ending. But this wasn’t so much of a twist as a surefire way to make me throw the book across the room. I won’t spoil it for you but in this humble librarian’s opinion, the ending was a twist for the sake of a twist; lacking in sense and destroying the continuity. The Governor in the comic doesn’t quite make sense now that I’ve read the novel. I read the novel for clarity, because I wanted to know how such a twisted and violent man got to be so freakin awful and all I got was more confused.
Perhaps the next installment will explain how a man is capable of what The Governor did in the graphic novels. For now, if you like this villain, you may want to skip this book. Unless you want to just read a zombie book with Kirkman's name on it. Then by all means, go for it. Lenni suggests getting it from your local library.

Lenni Reviews: 100 Months by John Hicklenton

In a sea of digitally augmented art, it was the impressive brush work of the art that first attracted me to this title. I'm sure there has been some digital assistance in creating "100 Months" but the ink, pen, and paint work here is a feast for the eyes. When it came across my desk for revision, I had to stop and take a look. I immediately read it cover to cover. Twice.
This book is a primal, visceral, personal battle with death, desire, and rage. Hicklenton was in the final stages of his battle with Multiple Sclerosis when creating this work. In it you can see the innermost feelings of a man who is railing against his fate with everything that he has; his faith shaken as his own body betrays him. His anger is expressed through the goddess Mara tearing through the artifice of worldly desires; depicted as the Pig God and his disciples.
“100 Months” is not an easy read. The art is fantastic but gory; the theme meaningful but depressing. Stradling the line between high fantasy and horror, this comic really highlights what the medium can express when in the hands of a master. This book is completely and utterly uncompromising and a fitting last work if there ever was one. RIP Jon Hicklenton. What you have created will live forever.

Dead Island Riptide Preview A Cleansing Bloodbath

Dead Island Riptide Preview: A Cleansing Bloodbath

Deep Silver’s original Dead Island from 2011 wasn’t exactly a refined experience. Glitches galore, messy inventories, and a lack of an interesting story prevented the novel concept from becoming a true masterpiece. Even so, the myriad of ways in which we could squash, skewer, dismember, and explode zombies provided unabashed, dumb fun. And, given that four million copies were sold, we weren’t the only ones who thought so. Thankfully, after a 15-minute hands-off demo, we came away impressed by just how much Dead Island Riptide seems to have improved upon its predecessor and become the game we originally wanted Dead Island to be.
Dead Island Riptide
Developer: Techland
Publisher: Deep Silver
Platform: PC, Xbox 360, PS3
Release date: TBD 2013
Oh right, we should probably mention some details… Riptide is a direct sequel to Dead Island, due out in 2013. The same four characters from the first game are returning (unfortunately, their escape attempt went awry and they’re now wrecked on another zombie infested island) and will be joined by a fifth: a military man who was not named.
Players can start from scratch or import their characters from Dead Island: a definite relief, given how much time many spent leveling and acquiring skills. Even fully powered builds from the first game have a chance to grow even further, as new abilities and higher levels will be available. And unlike the first Dead Island, firearms will be made available from the start, removing one of the most highly-contentious aspects of the original game.

We were shown a new type of mission called “defense mode.” The objective was to escape through an tunnel located underneath a ruined church. However, since the island on which the game takes place is flooded in many spots thanks to a monsoon, sustained use of water pumps was necessary. Loud water pumps. The kind that attract zombies.
As the pumps were working, it was up to the co-op team playing to defend the ruined church from hordes of incoming zombies – which included a couple of new breeds. In addition to the normal Dead Island arsenal, the characters utilized minigun turrets, movable fences/barricades, and mines in an effort to protect the entrenched area. Of course, the zombies eventually overwhelmed the position, and things got hairy pretty quickly.
At that point, the developers emphasized how they’ve reworked the system so that it’s OK to use your best equipment in such desperate situations. They noticed that players of the first Dead Island had a tendency to create awesome custom weapons and rarely use them, usually saving the powerful items for later (read: never). The details weren’t made crystal clear, but in Dead Island Riptide, you’ll have the opportunity to restock and reacquire items such as these so that you aren’t inhibited from giving everything you’ve got to help out your friends during moments such as the end of defense mode.
Granted, the demo we were shown was completely hands-off, so we couldn’t feel the engine and physics improvements Deep Silver was boasting about for ourselves, but the action appeared more fluid, hit detection seemed much improved, and gunplay looked tighter than before. What we saw was notably prettier, too. Well, as pretty as a compound fracture and a severed head can be.

We walked away from the demo thoroughly excited about Riptide. It appeared to be what any decent sequel should be: bigger, better, and shinier. We’ll definitely be keeping our eye on this one as next year rolls around.
