Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is more than just a parade of heroes, and a new image just revealed is reminding us of that.

Entertainment Weekly has posted a new photograph of Jesse Eisenberg in the first official look of him as the bald Lex Luthor.

“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure,” director Zack Snyder says to EW, “other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.”

Snyder goes on to state that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's Lex is "disarming and he's not fake."

“He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind," says the director. "If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”

X-Men: Days Of Future Past: Nightcrawler Will Not Be Back

Anyone who's been paying attention to recent movie news knows that next year's monolithic mutant movie, X-Men: Days of Future Past will feature just about every actor and actress who's had even a passing connection to the collective film franchise. However, according to actor, Alan Cumming, it most likely will NOT include his popular character, Nightcrawler.
With franchise heavies like Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, and the recently-self-confirmed Halle Berry on board, it seemed like anyone with an "X" on their film resume would be getting the fateful call from director, Bryan Singer to hop on board this time-bending bash of epic proportions. Yet, according to Cumming, that call never came. -- Not that it would have mattered anyway. According to the actor in a recent interview with Sirius XM:

"No, they haven’t [asked me to return]. Someone asked me that the other day and I said no. I know the one that’s coming up shoots this Spring, but I wouldn’t be available anyways. I don't think they have. I was gonna meet my manager for dinner later, I was gonna ask him, but no, I’m sure they would’ve told me, had they approached."

Thus, despite the fact that Days looks to be the most surreal fanboy-feast of fighting mutants, it will do battle with the giant robot Sentinels minus the presence of the smoke-shifting acrobatic blue-skinned badass, Kurt Wagner, aka Nightcrawler, who practically stole the show in the 2003 sequel, X2. (Which is widely regarded as the best film in the series.)
The same grim news goes for the character of Azazel, who in the comic book canon, was the father of Nightcrawler. (With Mystique being his mother.) Actor Jason Flemyng, who played the red-skinned teleporter in 2011's X-Men: First Class, would also confirm his non-involvement in the film. The lack of Nightcrawler-esque activity may be a small price to pay for the embarrassment of mutant riches that is this cast, but it's still an unfortunate one.

X-Men: Days of Future Past (sans Nightcrawler) will nevertheless bamf its way to theaters on July 18, 2014.

The film is a reimagination of the ubiquitous 1812 Grimm fairy tale that was meant to scare German children from wandering from their log cabins. Now, it will be used to scare those broom-riding, baby-baking-bitches from doing anything ever. Starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as the titular sibling duo.

X-Men First Class Sequel Sets Summer 2014 Release Date

X-Men: First Class was one of the more rushed blockbuster productions in recent memory, with Matthew Vaughn signing on as director in May of 2010, just 13 months before the June 2011 release. Miraculously, it actually turned out pretty well, earning strong reviews, a whole lot of money, and of course, the inevitable plans for a sequel.

As rushed as they were to make the first one, though, 20th Century Fox has been taking their time putting together the First Class sequel, and in early April they announced they'd wait even longer, starting production in January of next year to accommodate the schedule of star Jennifer Lawrence, who will be shooting the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire this fall. Now, as you might guess, Fox has finally set a release date for the still-untitled film, but it's giving them a little more time to finish it this time around. The update at Box Office Mojo says the First Class sequel will come to theaters July 18, 2014, giving returning director Vaughn a much more reasonable 18 months from the start of production to release.

We don't know a whole lot else about the film, except that it will focus even further on the development of Magneto (Michael Fassbender) as the villain, and that other stars like James McAvoy, Zoe Kravitz, Rose Byrne and Nicholas Hoult are all likely to reprise their roles. With production not starting until next year it will probably be a while before we hear more casting information or any more plot details, but now at least we can know it'll be 2014 before we should start looking forward to actually seeing it.

G.I. Joe Retaliation Delay Due To Storyline Change?

Was there another reason for the mind-boggling delay of sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation?

The recent announcement that the film, originally-slated for June 29 would be shifted to March 29, 2013 was originally attributed to Paramount's desire to convert the film to 3D. While that reason still remains solid, there was apparently another reason, and it has to do with returning star, Channing Tatum, who plays Duke.
It seems that the way the character was handled this time around, along with his fate, left test audiences not feeling so "Yo Joe!" about the film.

Warning: Spoileriffic Material Below!
As far as the 3D conversion goes, an insider tells Deadline that it will only add $5 million more to the film's $125 million budget. (I'm guessing they're getting it done at Walmart?) However, it appears that this huge gamble may not be just to add an extra dimension, but to change the context of the film itself.

It's certainly no secret that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's character of Roadblock has been the most prominent part of the hype surrounding the film. One might have thought that the spotlight had shifted from Channing Tatum's Duke, who was the main protagonist in 2009's The Rise of Cobra. However, his return was intended to be brief and after a few scenes where Duke passes the proverbial baton to Roadblock, Duke was reportedly killed-off.
However, a lot has happened since that was decided; namely the rising star of Channing Tatum. With hits like The Vow, Haywire, 21 Jump Street, and the upcoming Magic Mike, he is a now bankable commodity. Thus, more scenes with Tatum and Johnson have been shot (perhaps with more on tap?) to possibly nix Duke's death, but, more importantly, put more Duke in the film, creating a tighter "buddy" dynamic with Roadblock, similar to the one he had with Marlon Wayans' Ripcord in the first film.

It's a similar situation to an attempt to kill Duke off in the cartoon series back in 1987 in G.I. Joe: The Movie. The character was not originally supposed to survive being impaled by a snake spear from villain, Serpentor. However, in much the same way, it seems that outside forces could be taking the grinning First-Sergeant off the chopping block.

There were no doubt other reasons for the delay, namely the shellacking that some big-budget monsters like John Carter and Battleship have been taking at the box-office. With summer 2012 looking to provide some of the toughest competition ever, no doubt, this was a reprieve from a potentially-similar box-office disaster.

Nevertheless, the delay has left fans befuddled, and even director, Jon Chu was allegedly left "shellshocked." (I'm not sure if that's a pun.)
