Color me impressed! This KraftGeek JustTap is the fastest smartphone stand I've ever used when it comes to setting up and breaking down. This speed makes it great for run & gun content creators who like filming at different locations. Plus it's the size of a compact umbrella (13" long) & easily fits into most backpacks.
It functions almost like an umbrella; you tap one end to the ground and it automatically opens up the feet. Then you extend it to as high as you need it. The head is built-in so there's no need to twist or screw anything on.
Breakdown is also just as quick. Straighten the head, push down the column and close the the feet (again, like an umbrella) until it clicks shut.
It also comes with a bluetooth remote that attaches to the stand via magnet. It's easy to pair with your smartphone with one button to push to take your photos and videos.
The head tilts in 2 angles:
180 degree front-to-back (like a "yes" headshake)
180 degree side-to-side (from ear-to-ear)
What it does NOT do is rotate (like a "no" headshake).
Hare are some measurements I took that might be useful to know.
When the feet are open, it has a radius of 10" from the center column; you'll need at least 15" of floorspace to set down on at the very least (and 20" at most.)
Some other useful measurements:
Closed length: 13" (1ft 1in)
Max height: 66" (5ft 6in)
Min height: 17.5" (1ft 5.5in)
FINAL THOUGHTS
It's a well thought-out piece of gear that I like a lot. It's great for content creators and saves you so much time and space. Two thumbs up!
I might add that extra care should be taken around the feet area when you open and close it; you don't want your skin to get caught. This is true of all stands in general, but it never hurts to be extra careful.
