Tamagotchi Announces New Devices At New York Comic Con

Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America (BNTCA), the makers of the pioneering virtual pet brand Tamagotchi, unveiled a series of announcements from the almost thirty-year-old brand, in front of a 250-person audience of fans, during the FUN WITH TAMAGOTCHI panel at New York Comic Con (NYCC).

The talk brought together creators and fans to celebrate the evolution of these iconic virtual companions. The lively discussion included insights into the creative process, fan-favorite tips, and sneak peeks at upcoming releases including:

  • Original Tamagotchi Jelly Friends (MSRP: $19.99 USD): A Walmart-Exclusive shell style in vibrant, jelly-inspired colors, available this holiday season online and in-stores.

  • Original Tamagotchi Angel Series (Gen 3) (MSRP: $19.99 USD): Announcing the return of the highly-requested device previously released in the Western market in 1998 with Angel-inspired designs and characters. Pre-order for Lovely Angel and Dreamy Angel available now.

  • Tamagotchi Connection Melon Soda (MSRP: $29.99 USD): This refreshing twist on the beloved Tamagotchi Connection series features a new, flavorful design, bringing back a nostalgic shell revival from Japan that fans have been eagerly asking for!

  • nanoblock® Collaboration (MSRP: $6.00-12.00 USD): For the first time ever, nanoblock – the fan-favorite micro-sized building blocks – will be releasing Tamagotchi-themed products in Summer ‘25! The mininano Tamagotchi Volume 1 is a blind bag line featuring six characters from the Original Tamagotchi series. Character Collection Tamagotchi is a $12 boxed item comprised of the Original Tamagotchi and Tamagotchi Connection devices, with a chain to replicate the look and feel of the real device. 

  • Tamagotchi Short-Form Video Series: In an exciting move to engage with generations of fans, a brand-new Tamagotchi short-form video series was announced, promising entertaining content that will explore the adventures and antics of Tamagotchi characters. New episodes will be released regularly and can be found today on our YouTube Channel (@TamagotchiFriendsUS)!

Starting today, fans will also have more ways than ever to show off their love for the brand. The Tamagotchi cosmetic line, which was previously only available at Comic Cons and includes Lip & Cheek colors (MSRP $13 USD), as well as hair clips, hats and ChibiNui plush, is now available at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey. 

Tamagotchi continues to captivate hearts worldwide, bridging generations with its unique blend of nostalgia and modern innovation.
