Lakeshore Records will release The Sinner – Original Series Soundtrack (Seasons 2-4) by Ronit Kirchman, who composed the crime anthology series in its entirety. Available for pre-order today, the album includes key musical themes and cues from seasons 2-4, in addition to suites which spiral into mini-arcs of their own. The track “Spiral” is included as an instant grat with every pre-order via Apple and Amazon. Each season of The Sinner is a musical ecosystem of its own which represents the depth and range of Ronit’s palette. IndieWire consecutively included The Sinner on its “Best Scores” lists in 2020 and 2021.
This special release album will be available digitally on February 18, following the fourth and final season of the hit USA Network series, which premiered in late 2021 in the US, and is now streaming on Netflix UK. Ronit Kirchman’s The Sinner: Season 1 Original Series Soundtrack is also available on Lakeshore Records. Seasons 1-3 of The Sinner are streaming now on Netflix US.
Derek Simonds serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside executive producers Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple through their production company, Iron Ocean. Biel previously starred in Season 1 of the series. Charlie Gogolak, Adam Bernstein and Nina Braddock also serve as executive producers. UCF, a division of Universal Studio Group, serves as the studio.
In Season 4, still reeling from the trauma of a previous case a year ago, the now-retired Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) travels to Hanover Island in northern Maine for a recuperative getaway with his partner, Sonya (Jessica Hecht). When an unexpected tragedy occurs involving the daughter of a prominent island family, Ambrose is recruited to help the investigation, only to be thrown into a mystery of mounting paranoia that will turn this sleepy tourist island, and Ambrose’s life, upside down.
“I’m so thrilled to have the opportunity to release an album of my music for Seasons 2 through 4 of The Sinner,” says Ronit Kirchman. “The show has been an incredible landscape to work within as a composer. It’s saturated with deep subconscious hues and a wide dynamic range of emotional tones for the music to express. One of the unique aspects of this show is that it’s an anthology with continuity. Each season has invited its own specific language and instrumental palette, which also fits into a larger picture of the series arc. As a result, I can look and listen back on the whole series as an integrated musical journey.”
“In this album, I present some of the key themes and cues from the past three seasons, in addition to suites which create mini-arcs of their own. I hope that you enjoy these musical travels deep into the investigations of Detective Harry Ambrose, and through the forest of the collective soul of The Sinner,” says Kirchman.
