In this video, I review the pros and cons of the Vulcan 121 AIMO and include a tutorial on the SWARM software. It’s strange how Roccat doesn't offer user manuals (not even on their website) for most of their products; trying to figure out what half this stuff does is not fun.

Aside from that, I love the feeling of this keyboard. It's very springy and even my typing is more accurate than other brands I've tried. I credit Roccat's Titan switch; it pairs really well with the skirtless keycap. I tried switching them out for full skirt caps, but each tap felt heavier and the keys felt wobbly and muddy. I'll stick to the skirtless ones.

Aside from usual gamer requirements (nKRO, anti-ghosting and high polling number), major selling points for the Vulcan 121 AIMO are the customization options for lighting and macros. The lights are brighter (a Titan switch design), each key’s light can be changed if you want, and you can set macros on almost half the keyboard keys (using [+] Easy Shift). They’re functions many gamers can’t ignore.

Of course you’ll need the SWARM software to do any of this, but it can annoy as much as delight. If you don’t like futzing around with this kind of stuff, save yourself a headache and avoid the software.
