"SUIT UP!" Interview with Marcy Harriell

Interview by Justin D Williams

I had a chat with Marcy Harriell about her new show “Suit Up!” which premieres on October 4th on Bluprint . An actress by trade -- having starred in film, TV and Broadway productions (most notably, in Rent and Lin Manuel Miranda's In The Heights) -- Marcy Harriell is a Sewist, founder of fashion blog Oonaballoona, and the host of “Re:Fashion,” a new series on NBCUniversal’s streaming on-demand subscription service Bluprint (it’s like the Netflix of makers, doers and creators). Follow Marcy's creative adventures on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter as @marcyharriell or her blog “oonaballoona by marcy harriell,” (http://www.oonaballoona.com/).

Bluprint (NBCU's digital lifestyle subscription service) is partnering with DC Comics for a series of online classes that will teach fans how to make the perfect DIY Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Superman costumes. The four-part tutorial series launches on Thursday, October 4.

Hosted by expert sewist Marcy Harriell, each episode in the series teaches viewers how to make a different Cosplay costume in detail, with an eye toward fashion. It highlights new takes on classic designs for men, women and kids. From low/no sew options to in-depth stitching, Mary inspires everyone to create their perfect look for Comic-Con, Halloween, or everyday costume play.
