Games for Change, Princeton University’s Program on Science and Global Security, Archer’s Mark, and Atlas V today announced that they will partner in the creation of an immersive virtual reality project, designed to raise public awareness around nuclear risk through a combination of narrative storytelling and gameplay mechanics. Plans for the project, which was awarded funds by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, was announced at the XR For Change Summit, a day-long convergence which fosters the use of immersive media in advancing critical real-world causes. This new project is intended to mobilize the wider public to engage with nuclear policy issues and the dangers we all face from nuclear weapons and fissile materials, as a means to encourage greater engagement by the public in nuclear policy and decision-making.
