OWARIMONOGATARI Final Blu-ray Set Coming This Summer

Aniplex of America announced today at their Sakura-Con industry panel in Seattle, WA that fans of OWARIMONOGATARI will be able to own the complete series on Blu-ray this summer with the upcoming release of OWARIMONOGATARI Blu-ray Set Volume 3. The final volume of the fan-favorite supernatural thriller will include the last 7 episodes of the long-awaited finale to the Monogatari Series, tying up the conclusion of the occult mysteries surrounding Koyomi Araragi. The OWARIMONOGATARI Blu-ray Set Volume 3 will be released on June 26th, 2018 and will come with plenty of bonus features and contents for the true and casual fan alike. Along with the final seven episodes, the Volume 3 Blu-ray Set will include the textless opening and ending, a deluxe booklet, a package designed by Character Designer Akio Watanabe, and the animated featurettes “STORY OF KOYOMI ARARAGI” and “STORY THAT IS GOING TOWARDS THE END.”

OWARIMONOGATARI is the conclusion of the bestselling Monogatari Series light novels by Nisioisin that took fans by storm since the franchise’s debut in 2005. TheMonogatari Series follows high school student and former vampire Koyomi Araragi and the supernatural sweethearts surrounding the odd events of his life, inspiring multiple anime adaptations, manga, drama CDs, and even a theatrical prequel trilogy, KIZUMONOGATARI. The final series takes place after the twelve episode KOYOMIMONOGATARIseason and is a wordplay using the Japanese word for “end”—owari. After years of anticipation, OWARIMONOGATARI is the season that ties the events of the previous installations together in a heart-stopping finale sure to make your head tilt!

The Monogatari Series is known among anime fans for its heavy-hitting, visually stunning animation, and OWARIMONOGATARI is no exception. OWARIMONOGATARI is animated by famed studio Shaft (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, March comes in like a lion) and directed by Monogatari Series veteran Akiyuki Shimbou (NISEKOI, BAKEMONOGATARI) while Kei Haneoka (Tsukimonogatari) returns to the Monogatari Series to compose the music. The all-star cast of the previous seasons has returned, with Hiroshi Kamiya (Durarara!!, Blue Exorcist) as protagonist Koyomi Araragi, Kaori Mizuhashi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, KOYOMIMONOGATARI) as Ougi Oshino, Maaya Sakamoto (Fate/Apocrypha, Magi: The Kingdom of Magic) as Shinobu Oshino, and Chiwa Saito (BAKEMONOGATARI, The irregular at magic high school) as Hitagi Senjyogahara.
