Lost Girl: Season 5 & 6 (Review)

After a shocking loss shakes Bo to her very core, the succubus finds herself face to face with her mysterious father. With his identity finally revealed, Bo is forced to the question everything she's ever trusted to be true. Unfortunately, the Fae world doesn't leave much time for grieving, and poor Bo just can't catch a break. Humans are being murdered and all signs point to the Fae. As Dyson traces the killings back to a Fare cult, it's up to Bo and her friends to stop the madness before the ancient powers at work bring about the end of days. As the lines drawn between old friends and foes begin to disappear, the family Bo has chosen and the family she was born into will finally face off with the fate of the world hanging in the balance-just another day in the charmed life of the chosen one.

A satisfying ending to a very original show. Lost Girl final season ends with wrapping up storylines for Dyson, Bo, Lauren and many others. If you watch the series from the very beginning you will be happy with how Bo was handed in the final episode. Naturally season 5 kicks off where 4 left off and that's Bo going straight to hell (literally) to save her loved ones. Here she confronts someone teased for a while her father. I won't spoil it but the pay off was satisfying. The relationship of Bo and Lauren while up and down throughout the series fleshed out but I felt the way Bo makes her decision was a little lackluster. I had some other problems with season 5 such as some pacing issues and Dyson who started out strong kind of didn't like the direction his character went too. For the sake of spoilers I won't reveal anything. Fans of the show will be happy to know season 5 is better than 4. Characters get their send offs, storylines wrap up and Bo makes her decision who she wants to be with.

The acting remains fun to watch as Anna Silk lead the cast as Bo. Bo is such a complex character someone who is technically evil by her birth but throughout the season and series you see her make her own choices. Anna Silk brings that depth and complex look very well and I enjoyed watching her on screen. The special effects aren't the best but for the budget the show was given it works fine. The Blu-Ray has a couple of special features like the actors talking about the final season, a look at some behind scenes and a couple of interviews. It also features unseen footage not shown which is enough of a sale for those who are fans of the show.

Final Score 3 and half out of 5 stars
