RiffTrax Live: THE ROOM Review

Perhaps the most baffling and hilarious independent film ever produced, The Room has won legions of fans around the world and become a favorite at festivals and midnight screenings! If there were ever a movie tailor-made for the RiffTrax guys, The Room is it!

What happens when you combine the comedy style of the RiffTrax crew with the movie"The Room? The answer is that you get one hell of a hilarious good time. The comedy styles of RiffTrax and The Room fit like a glove. The event started with the RiffTrax guys riffing a short film about building boats. This was just the appetizer before the main course. The short film was truly ridiculous and the RiffTrax crew skinned it alived. One of my favorite parts was when the kids didn't look happy being in this short film. The guys made sure to point that out.

After the riffing of the short film ended. It was time for the main course. I don't want to spoil jokes because I want to experience it for yourself. However I would say that the guys know when to throw in the punchline. What I like about the riffing is that it doesn't insult or throw the film under the bus. Instead they call out what is wrong with the the film, take it apart in such a way that even those involved in the film will say damn they got us. The jokes were home runs hits, even a Bill Cosby joke that the audience going low blow but was all in good taste. My highlight is the audience, the reaction to the film and the RiffTrax crew was priceless. Trust me you don't want to miss this event. It is a hilarious, non stop 2 hours of laughter.
