The Top 5 Music Themes of Batman

A while back I did an article pitting John Williams vs Hans Zimmer in the battle of Superman's themes. This time I wanted to do something different. Instead of pitting composer versus composers in an all out battle. Today I wanted to list the top five best Batman music themes. Tell which Batman theme is your favorite in the comment section.

5. Batman 60's TV Theme

Probably the most catchy theme on this list. Batman 60's TV Show theme is not only iconic but define the campy Batman Era. A simple vocal melody with lyrics simply Batman, Batman, BATMAN! Once you hear it once you won't get our of your head for a couple of hours.

4. Batman Beyond

Batman Beyond brought an more edgy darker tone to the animated series. The theme song is an instant classic with a hard guitar solo, that makes you want to kick some ass. Truly a theme that personify it's protagonist Terry Mcginnis. The theme was hip, fresh and just like the show purely awesome. 

3. The Dark Knight

Hans Zimmer composed one hell of theme for Batman during The Dark Knight trilogy. It's dark, sad but feels epic. The drums, strings come together nicely. When you think of Batman music for this generation you will think of The Dark Knight. 

2. Batman By Danny Elfman

Danny Elfman Batman theme is the most iconic Batman theme on this list. You were probably expecting this to be number one. However as much as I love Elfman's Batman theme it doesn't take number 1 for me. Elfman theme starts off dark with a wonderful tone and then picks up into full superhero realm. The pacing is great and covers all emotions of Batman. This theme is so good that it was used again for the animated series.

1. Batman The Mask Of Phantasm 

Shirley Walker is was one of the most underrated composers. Her work on Batman: The Animated Series is one of the best music in animation. Here score for Batman: Mask of The Phantasm is truly the definitive theme. Shirley brings something none of the Batman had brought an choir. The opening choir not only sets the theme of a mysterious guardian from the shadows, but makes Batman feel like something of a legend. The horns and strings to go along with it is just haunting. Truly the best Batman theme that really screams Batman.
