Interview With Brieanna Brock (Cosplay Girl Of The Week #38 Calie Liddle)
/
We had a chat with our Cosplay Girl Of The Week Brieanna Brock. Check it out! You seen her Zenescope Entertainment and she has done a lot of work. Here is our chat with Brieanna Brock. We chat about comics, cosplaying and of course things geeky!
*OtakusandGeeks.com:* Let’s first talk about your Geeky Origins. How did you get into Cosplaying and how were you able to do it professionally?
*Brieanna Brock: *Zenescope Entertainment! My first comic character I actually cosplayed was Calie Liddle from Zenescope. I fell in love with their characters from Grimm Fairy Tales and Wonderland. I wanted to recreate the characters looks and moved on to recreating exclusive comic book
and novel covers. Cosplaying has taken me to new heights though lately. I was recently named Miss December for Zenescope and featured as a model on Red Skye World. I sale and sign prints as a cosplay model at local stores and events and am always happy to meet and get to know new fans and other comic gurus.
*OtakusandGeeks.Com:* Out of all the Cosplays that you have done. Which one was your favorite and what drew you to that character?
*Brieanna Brock:* Sela Mathers from Zenescope. She is a story teller in the comics and uses her kind heart and Grimm Fairy Tales to try and influence the lives of others for the better. Every cover I've seen
of her is flattering and I am drawn by a cover big time for cosplay. After the first time I cosplayed, I was hooked! I have modeled in the past and really enjoyed it. Dance lessons were always a part of me until highschool and then I got into sports. Later on I took up modeling aside from regular work and in the last couple of years, I've completly fell in love with cosplay =) Now I cosplay all sorts of characters. While Sela is my favorite, I have a long lists of different characters I like to cosplay.
*OtakusandGeeks.com:* Is there a character that has been really challenging to pull off in your photos?
*Brieanna Brock:* This may sound funny, but their all challenging because I don't have boobs the size of most of them according to 9 out of 10 covers =) Most of the characters have been easy to recreate
because I like them so much that I try to connect that fantasy with
their appearance as best I can. However, costume wise in general...right now the most challenging is trying to find the right get up for a Wonder Woman cosplay. I want to go original but not too old fashioned and I haven't found one I really like or that doesn't look like a typical halloween costume. I really want to have her
costume done by someone who can make it to my liking. She is the Amazon princess...she deserves major justice to her cosplay.
*OtakusandGeeks.com:* You stated that you love to recreate comic covers in your photos. What would be your dream cover to recreate in a form of a modeling picture?
*Brieanna Brock:*The hardest cover I want to recreate is Grimm Fairy Tales issue #22. The Snow Queen published by Zenescope Entertainment by Eric Basaldua. It's my all time favorite cover and would be uber epic to pull off. I will accomplish it sooner or later.
*OtakusandGeeks.com:* Since we’re on the topic of comics. Do you have a favorite superhero and why did you choose them?
*Brieanna Brock:* Superhero would have to be Wonder Woman. I admire her passion, beauty, and strength. For one she is a sort of feminist role model. Her mission was to bring the Amazon ideals of love,
peace, and sexual equality to a world torn by the hatred of men. She has numerous powers like flight, super-speed, super-stamina, ability to talk to the animal kingdom, and super-agility. Wonder Woman is 2nd in strength only to Super Man. How AMAZING is that! She carries around a lasso of truth, indestructible bracelets, a tiara that shimmers and is a projectile and invisible airplane. I could never admire anyone more as a super hero. To be that skilled, blessed, and humble...I could only dream.
Brieanna Brock as Wonder Woman (Wow)!

*OtakusandGeeks.com*: Okay who is your least favorite Superhero and why?
*Brieanna Brock*: Hit Girl. She annoys me. No, I'm not jealous of her combat skills, she is just simply annoying. You wouldn't catch me dead hanging out with a master named Big Daddy either. I liked the
blood shed but seriously, she just annoys me. She is referred to as a mix between John Rambo and Polly Pocket. YUK! You would also never catch me hanging out with someone like Red Mist. So, not my take of character. Sorry Kick Ass fans.
*OtakusandGeeks.com:* Aww and we love Hit Girl too. Let’s return to Cosplaying for a moment. Now when people hear Cosplay they usually think Anime. Have you cosplay as an Anime character?
*Brieanna Brock:* No, but I would love to. I've seen some really creative concepts for costumes.
*OtakusandGeeks.com*: Do you watch Anime and if so what are you currently
watching?
*Brieanna Brock:* I don't read or watch Anime. I've bought some of their figurines lately and am thinking of cosplaying some Anime, but I always research and read up on characters to decide who I love and
would like to recreate. Any suggestions?
*OtakusandGeeks.com*: We have a long list lol. That will have to be another day. Here at we OtakusandGeeks.com we are big gamers? Do you game? If so what was your first game?
*Brieanna Brock: *I game at lots of different cons and local stores but their all table top games. I've heard a lot about different games and a majority want me to get into WOW, but I don't know where to get
started with those sorts of games.
*OtakusandGeeks.com: *Wow! What system do you currently own and what are currently playing?
*Brieanna Brock: *I've played a lot on the X-box and Wii but their more of the puzzle, sporty, and active games. I'd really like some great recommendations as to which games are fun filled with fantasy.
*OtakusandGeeks.com*: I'm sure our readers will list some RPG's in the comment section. Tell us about your gaming group Laughing Moon Chronicles.
*Brieanna Brock: * Adventures Under the Laughing Moon is a
role-playing game that allows you, the player, to create and control a
character within the fantasy world of Mythren. Based on The Laughing
Moon Chronicles, players are able to join the action found in the
series of books, and contribute to the continuing story as it takes
place right in front of you! Where other fantasy role-playing games
emphasize combat or powers, Adventures Under the Laughing Moon puts
the focus on story and character. This encourages Game Masters to
craft compelling adventures as players bring rich characters to life
within the story. Skills and abilities are designed to allow players
a wide spectrum of options without being limited by particular
classes. Players can create unique characters and build their
abilities based on background, experience, and motivation. I am
featured as a Laughing Moon girl in this series. My characters name
is Reindulana Simon. She is a Rogue Sorceress. I created my character
to be beautiful and powerful. She has created tons of chaos in our
game. The Rogue Fold is a secretive group of magicians who choose to
embrace the forbidden magic called cullothean. This is a powerful form
of magic long ago outlawed by the Spire of Mystics. Chaotic in nature,
this forbidden power is rumored to be far greater than the ordained
magic used by the Senduan Mystics. Due to this, the Rogue Fold
represents the greatest threat to the careful balance of magic upheld
by the Spire and regulated by the notorious reiners—capable of drawing
out the ability to use magic…forever. All of we Laughing Moon Girls
game in character when we game. You have to come check out our game
and get into a fantasy realm with us, you'll have a blast! Unlike
most games too, you can pop from table to table and experience EVERY
scene in our current game and get the best experience possible.
Brieanna as Red Sonja.

*OtakusandGeeks.com: *Besides modeling and gaming. What other passions do you have?
*Brieanna Brock: *Aside from modeling and gaming, I love to play guitar and sing. My father and grandfather were and are naturals with music and nothing famous but all in good taste and company for
gatherings. I decided to teach myself guitar and got some pointers
from my father and I thoroughly enjoy it. I've got a myspace music
with some casual acoustic songs I wrote and have got copy writes on
myself but I haven't done anything with them or the tons of others I
don't even have up. But I do love to jam out with friends and family
or even alone at times. It's soothing and entertaining. If I'm not playing guitar I'm hanging out close with my fiance reading or watching a movie or a tv
series we need to catch up on.
*OtakusandGeeks.com:* You model at conventions before. Tell us about your recent con experience and who did go as?
*Brieanna Brock:* The last con I went to was Rincon in Tuscon, I didn't like it as much as there seemed to be more venders than gamers. But it was still fun none the less and I got to hang out with our Laughing
Moon crew for a while. My last great gaming con was in LA. Our creator Todd VanHooser and ourselves were invited to Strategicon in LAto promote our RPG game. We had an amazing time and gained some great fans and friends. Lots of fantasy, laughter, and strategy took place at our tables. We hold our own con every year now too in Goodyear. It's called Laughing Moon Con. Here you'll find some of the coolest
group of vendors, artists, writers, and gamers at their best. We feature far more than our RPG as well so there is sure to be a game for everyone at our Con. And for those that aren't gamers, you can meet up awith tons of local talent and purchase some great art, cosplay props, and comics but I'm positive you'll sit down at a table
and play some sort of game. Plus all the profit goes toward extra curricular activities at the school that our creator works at. What better way to spend a day gaming? =) Our Con this year is April 19th in Goodyear, AZ.

Cosplay Girl Of The Week #38 (Calie Liddle)
/This week's Cosplay Girl Of The Week is Calie Liddle. I really like this Cosplay for many reasons. One reason is the background of the roses, and the pose of the model. I also like the edition of the 3 stems that's place on the model.

Read MoreSnakebyte/SunFlex Premium Wii Board Brief Review
/
We got our hands on a Sunflex USA & Snakebyte's Wii Board. In their own words "The versatile fitness board doubles as an electronic scale and is designed to turn gaming into fun workouts by allowing players to stimulate ski jumps, skate, learn fitness coaches, play balance games, and more!" How does it hold up?
Design & Tech - The design is very basic and easy on the eyes. The board comes in two colors black and white. Easy to lift and comes with a built in LCD. This informs you when a connection with the Wii is made. We tried it on the Wii Fit and it works perfectly. Unlike the Wii controllers you will have to active the board once the game starts. It's really easy to sync. Just filp over the board and open the back piece where the batteries are. Inside is a black button, press that with the Wii sync button and boom it works.
Unlike the Wii Board this holds up 390lbs compare to Wii Board 330 lbs. We found this very impressive. So if you are a larger gamer have no fear, this board supports you. During our gameplay's with Wii Fit we didn't see no hiccups, glitches or anything to ruin our Wii. This works just as good as the original board. We also like the blue light indicators as well. It keeps you informed whether you are connected or not. The only downside to this is that it takes 4 double A batteries. However the board will shut down or go to sleep mode, when not being used. This saves and conserves batteries. The only downside is the price is $69.99 while Wii Fit Plus with the board is $89.99. However don't let that stop you, this can be used as a scale and it's more durable and more comfortable.
Final Grade B+/8.5: The Premium Wii Board is very easy to use. It looks great and feels great, but some might be turned off by the price and double A battery use. However that shouldn't stop you. This board can also be used as a scale, without playing the games. It supports people with a higher weight than the Nintendo board.Check it out if you are looking for an alternative.

Black Butler Musical
/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade Attack Review
/
*Sigh* there use to be a time when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games was the hottest thing on the market. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Arcade Game," "Turtles In Time" and "Turtles The Hyperstone Heist" just to name a few are all classics. All these classics were made by Konami. Now years later Ubisoft has the rights to our favorite heroes on the half shell, and for years they have been trying to recreate that same magic. However they have yet to pull it off with the 2009 DS installment, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade Attack" is no different.
Story - The story is very simple and straight to the point. There is a temporal interference coming from somewhere in the city. The Turtles think Shredder has return and it's up to them to investigate. Their investigation leads them all over the streets of New York.
Gameplay - If Ubisoft and history has taught us anything is that TMNT games need to say in 2D. The game consist of eight levels which are rather short. You get to choose your favorite Turtle and a partner to accompany him. Or if you have a friend who has the game you two can link up and play together. Each Turtle has a rating of stats. For instance Donny has more range, Leo is more stronger, Mikey is more agile. The problem with these stats is that it doesn't do anything for the game. All the Turtles basically move the same and fight the same way. The gameplay follows simple controls that you expect in any beat em up. You have your kick button, strike button, block and jump button. This Turtle game tries to do something a little different though. In this game the Turtles can pick at objects such as a box or wood crate and hit their enemies. Sad part about this is the object you pick up is stronger than the Turtles actual weapons. The AI is repetitive and there is no strategy to beat them. Just hack and slash, but unlike other Turtle games it's not enjoyable. For a side scrolling game it's very annoying, this game really needs a target system. Nailing hits sometimes on the enemy is a chore itself, because the Turtles movement are stiff. The constant slowly down when you beat an enemy is also very annoying. There is little boss fights and the ones you do have is a joke and very easy. The game at least has more than one more for you to play such as, Survival Mode, Hard Mode and Boss Rush Remix Mode. But the clunky gameplay will leave you not wanting to try out the rest of the game.
Gameplay Video
Graphics - The graphics is a hit and miss. The backgrounds in some levels are really good to look out. The enemies however look horrible. This is some of the ugliest designs for thugs I've seen in a while. As you seen the video above, some enemies you can't even make out their faces. The Turtles on the other hand in the cutscenes look like the Manga counterparts. This I do like about the game is the cutscenes. But when cutscenes is your biggest draw in that's a problem. There are even repeats on the same scenery in some levels.
Sound - The sound is a snore fest. This Turtle game music is dull and dry. The music doesn't even compliment the environments or inspire you to get into the action. Especially level one's music. I actually turned the sound off because the music was boring. I was hoping at least the music would be good, but to no avail.
Replay Value - Unless you can endure the generic music, sloppy gameplay then give Boss Rush Remix Mode a try. Other than that this game has no replay value. One trip with the Turtles is enough.
Final Grade D-/3.5 - I'm sorry my Turtle fans this is not the game to play. It's just to painful and too boring to even consider this a rent. After you play this you will be wishing that turtles will stay 2D or go back to the original developers. Final Grade D-/3.5.
